The sophomore went 9-for-16 with three home runs on the week
PRINCETON, N.J. — Columbia baseball outfielder Cole Fellows has been named Ivy League Player of the Week for the first time in his career, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
Fellows started every game in Columbia's 4-0 week, going 9-for-16 with three home runs, 10 RBIs, five runs scored, and 20 total bases. The Clovis, California native slashed .563/.588/1.250 on the week.
Columbia dominated the week, defeating Manhattan and sweeping a three-game series against reigning Ivy League Champion Penn over the weekend to move into sole possession of first place in the conference standings. Fellows had multiple hits in each of the four games last week and recorded the first multi-home run game of his career and drove in a career-high five RBIs in the middle game of the Penn series.
Fellows is the fourth Lion to collect an Ivy League weekly award this season (Andy Leon Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 26, Jack Cooper Player of the Week on March 4, and Cole Hage Player of the Week on March 25).
Winners of five-straight, the Lions (10-12, 5-1) are now 35-6 at home since the beginning of 2022 and 10-1 in home contests this year. Columbia visits UConn on Tuesday with first pitch set for 3:30 p.m.
