PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia junior
Sarah Mikami garnered Ivy League Player of the Week recognition after an impressive performance over the weekend that helped Columbia defeat Pitt and Quinnipiac as part of the UCF SpaceU Classic in Orlando.
Mikami started all five games this weekend in Orlando and led the team in batting average at .545. She totaled six hits, including a team high two doubles, a triple and a team high two home runs this weekend to go along with a team high six RBI. She also tallied team highs with 16 total bases and a 1.455 slugging percentage.
"Sarah obviously had a great weekend," Columbia softball head coach
Jennifer Teague said. "She was consistent and had some timely hits and RBIs when we needed them the most. Super proud of her and the team."
Mikami had two hits, including a home run and two RBI in Columbia's win over Pitt. She also contributed three hits and three RBI in Columbia's win against Quinnipiac.
UP NEXT
Columbia has next weekend off before returning to action at the FGCU Spring Break Classic in Fort Myers, Florida starting March 7. The Lions will play Toledo, FGCU and Lehigh in Fort Myers.
