Columbia Baseball Earns 2025-26 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

The Lions posted a team GPA of 3.46 for the academic year
NEW YORK – Columbia baseball has been recognized with the 2025-26 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack, for its outstanding performance in the classroom. The Lions posted a team GPA of 3.46 last season to earn a spot among the 500 programs honored nationwide.
Teams from every level of college and high school baseball were honored with this year's award, which recognizes ABCA member programs that posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.
Columbia has earned the honor for the sixth time since the award's inception in 2016.
The American Baseball Coaches Association has a long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes. The ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams are the nation's oldest, founded in 1949. The association's awards program also includes the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Teams, the ABCA/ATEC Regional and National Coaches of the Year awards, the ABCA Hall of Fame, and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
