Biography

2019: Played in nine games at forward, earning four starts ... Came off the bench to play 44 minutes in his collegiate debut at Omaha (Sept. 6) ... Took his first two shots on shot on goal at Creighton (Sept. 9) ... Picked up his first collegiate start in his home debut, seeing 69 minutes of game action in a 1-1 draw with Army (Sept. 13) ... Made his Ivy League debut with 20 minutes off the bench at Princeton (Oct. 19) ... Started and played 39 minutes of a 0-0 draw at Dartmouth (Oct. 26).

Prior to Columbia: Spent two seasons prior competing at Seton Hall Prep in the fall and the Players Development Academy (PDA) in the spring ... Two-time id2 selection who vaulted into TopDrawerSoccer’s Boys IMG Academy 150 rankings in 2015 and reappeared in the rankings again in 2016 ... In two seasons at Seton Hall Prep, helped the Pirates to two appearances in the New Jersey State (North) finals ... Also helped team to divisional and county championships in 2017, as well as runner-up finishes in 2018 ... Scored 12 goals with 3 overtime game winners in two seasons, including the game-winner for Seton Hall Prep in the 2017 county finals ... Spent 2015-17 in the New York Red Bulls Academy, where he scored three goals at center back for a Red Bulls Academy team that was ranked No. 1 in the country in 2015-16 ... Started and played all five games the following season for the club in a tournament in Salzburg, Austria ... Four-year Honor Roll student and member of the National Society of High School Scholars.

Son of Robin and Alex Ned ...  Father, Alex, received his bachelor's from Columbia's Fu Foundation School of Engineering in Applied Science in 1987, followed by his master's degree in 1990 ... Father played both football (1983-84) and men’s soccer (84-85) at Columbia and is currently the President of the Columbia Engineering Alumni Association (CEAA) ... Brother, Adam, plays soccer for Occidental College ... Chose Columbia over considerations from several schools, including Tufts, Claremont, Wake Forest, Bucknell, Penn and UMass ... Intends to study computer science.
