Staten Island, N.Y. - In just three seasons, Lindsey Ewertsen tied the Columbia career record in caused turnovers with her 80 on Wednesday, March 28 in the Lions non-conference finale at Wagner. With two in the game, Ewertsen tied the current record of 80 held by both Paige Cuscovitch '14CC and Kate Lombard '07CC. The junior added a goal and an assist on the day as well.
The Lions saw a standout performance from Orna Madigan at Hameline field with two goals and a team-high four draw controls. Regan Steed, Chelsea Witteck, and Fallon Quinn combined for six goals each firing in a pair. Victoria Kalamaras also found Alexandria Absey for a score, her 26th, as Kalamaras continues to push the Columbia career assist mark to 99.
Despite 10 goals by the Lions, the Seahawks built on an 8-4 lead at the half to hold and defeat Columbia 14-10.
Kelsey Gedin tallied four saves in the game to move her career total to 480, the second most saves on Columbia's all-time list. Abby Roberts also posted eight saves in net in the second half, while Alyssa Adamo, Regan Steed, and Kathryn Cavallo each tallied two caused turnovers to highlight a game-high 11 by the Lions defense.
