WASHINGTON D.C. – The Columbia wrestling team fell for the first time this season tonight at American, dropping a 26-10 decision to the EIWA foe.

With the first loss of the season, the Lions fall to 4-1, while American now sits at 1-3.

In a dual that started at 133, the home team got off to a fast start when Josh Terao posted a major decision against
Spencer Good by a 20-7 margin. The Eagles went on to win the next two matches, as Jack Mutchnik got by a
Danny Fongaro with a 7-2 decision, and Michael Sprague put American up 11-0 with a 13-0 major decision.

Columbia picked up its first win of the evening when
Dan Reed got four points back with a 13-4 major decision against Kizhan Clarke, improving to 16-3 this year.
Laurence Kosoy made it back-to-back wins, cutting the lead to 11-7 when he had a 8-4 win against Anthony Wokasch.

American went on to win the next two bouts, including a pin at 184 pounds to make it a 20-7 lead.
Sam Wustefeld would get three of those points back however, picking up a 2-1 decision against Prince Hyeamang at 197. The final two matches would go to the Eagles, as Niko Camacho recorded a 2-1 win against
Daniel Herman at Heavyweight, while Gage Curry ended the bout with a 10-5 decision at 125 over
Joe Manchio.

Next weekend, Columbia welcomes Cornell to the Blue Gym on Saturday, before facing off with Binghamton also at home on Sunday.
