Saturday Matchup at Princeton Up Next for Lions

The Columbia women's soccer team begins a two-game road stretch at Princeton on Saturday at 7 p.m.
NEW YORK — The Columbia women's soccer team begins a two-game road stretch in Ivy League play this Saturday, traveling to face the Princeton Tigers at 7 p.m. ET.
The game will be streamed live on ESPN+, while live statistics are available here.
Coming off a 1-0 victory over Penn last Saturday, the Lions enter this week's matchup with an 8-3-1 overall record including a 2-1 mark in Ivy matches. At 2-1 in conference play, the Lions are tied for third in the standings behind leaders Brown (3-0) and Harvard (3-0) and knotted with Yale (2-1).
Against the Quakers, junior midfielder Gracie Wall net the game-winning goal in the 75th minute off an assist from sophomore midfielder Jessica Schildkraut which held up to give Columbia the victory. It was the second-straight game in which Wall scored the game-winner after putting a 100th-minute goal in the back of the net against Bucknell last Tuesday.
Schildkraut leads the Lions with nine points on the season behind two goals and a team-leading five assists. Junior midfielder Cayla Davis and sophomore forward Mallaika Tomar each have scored a team-high three goals. First-year goalkeeper Liz Matei has played all but 78 minutes between the pipes for the Lions, boasting four shutouts plus one shared clean sheet with junior keeper Juliet Allen, and a .96 goals against average.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
The Tigers are 5-5-2 on the season with a 1-2 Ivy record entering this weekend's matchup. Last weekend saw Princeton drop a 1-0 decision to Brown in Providence, with the Bears scoring in the 81st minute. Most recently the Tigers earned a 4-0 home victory against Lehigh on Tuesday.
First-year Grace Sherman leads Princeton in its scoring efforts with 10 points behind four goals and two assists, while fellow first-year Marissa Hart has a team-best three assists. Senior goalkeeper Natalie Grossi has started and played in all but one game for the Tigers, recording five shutouts and holding a 1.13 goals against average.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Lions trail in the overall series between the two programs, 8-22-4, however the Lions own a 3-2 edge in the series under sixth-year head coach Tracey Bartholomew. Last season, the Tigers came up on the winning end of a 1-0 decision as then-first-year Amy Paternoster scored in the 38th minute in New York.
ON DECK
The Lions will play their final road game of the regular season next Saturday, heading to Hanover, New Hampshire, to take on the Dartmouth Big Green. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. on ESPN+.
