Brett Boretti Named Ivy League Coach of the Year

It's the third time the Columbia Baseball head coach has been named Ivy League Coach of the Year.
PRINCETON, N.J. — For the third time in his 17 years at the helm of Columbia Baseball, head coach Brett Boretti has been unanimously named the Ivy League Coach of the Year following Columbia's winning of both the Ivy League Championship and the Ivy League Playoff Series, as announced on Thursday, May 26, as part of the Ivy League's postseason awards.
Boretti won the award in 2015 and 2018, and has now won three of the eight Ivy League Coach of the Year honors as the award was first created in 2015.
The Columbia skipper led the Lions to a 29-16 overall record, going 17-4 in the Ivy League. The 17-4 record put Columbia in position to split the title with Penn, and during that stretch the Lions won an Ivy League record 15 straight Ivy League games. That 15-game Ivy League winning streak came during a program record 19-straight game winning streak that at the time it ended, was the longest streak in the country.
The winning streak was not the only program record to fall this year, as the Lions set program records in total home runs (59); runs scored (366); total doubles (105); RBIs (324) and total bases (793). Columbia also had 10 named to the 2022 All-Ivy League team, the most for the Lions since 2015.
