Miller has three-home run game; Lions drop their first Ivy series
Sam Miller recorded the first three-home run game of his career and drove in a career-high six RBIs. Columbia (15-14, 9-3) sits one game ahead of Cornell for first place in the Ivy League, while Yale moves to 11-17 (6-6).
Columbia took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a sacrifice fly from Jack Cooper. It was his Ivy League-leading 42nd RBI of the year.
Yale exploded with a five-run third inning to go in front 5-1. Max Imhoff started the Bulldogs off with a solo home run, followed by a two-run single and a two-run double off Lions starter Thomas Santana.
Columbia chipped into the lead with a Miller three-run home run in the fourth inning. The Lions added three more the next inning on a Griffin Palfrey three-run home run to re-take the lead, 7-6.
