The Lions welcome the Jaspers for the final home game of the season
NEW YORK – The Columbia softball team will play its final home game of the season Tuesday as the Lions host Manhattan for a midweek matchup. First pitch at the Columbia Softball Stadium is set for 1 p.m.
Tuesday's game will not be live streamed, but fans can still follow along via live stats or updates from the team X account @CULionsSoftball.
THE MATCHUP
Columbia is looking to bounce back Tuesday afternoon after dropping the final two games of the series to Yale over the weekend. Manhattan enters the contest with a 12-34 overall record. The Jaspers won two of three games to win the series at Quinnipiac this past weekend.
Maddy Weir leads the Jaspers at the plate with 39 hits and a .281 batting average this season. She has belted five home runs and is credited with 18 RBI. Mollie Charest leads the Jaspers in the circle with 18 starts and a 4.07 ERA
STAT LEADERS
Cami Neal leads the Lions at the plate in almost every category as she owns 42 hits for a .372 batting average this season. Neal has hit 10 home runs to go along with seven doubles, 27 RBI, 79 total bases and a .699 slugging percentage.
Raquel Reyes has seen the most action in the circle for the Lions with 18 starts and 23 appearances this season. Reyes holds a 5.35 ERA with a 7-10 record.
RECORD WATCH
Over the weekend Neal tied the single season home run record as she hit a solo shot on the first pitch of game one against Yale. Neal is tied with Taylor Troutt, Madison Gott and Sommer Gryzbek in the top spot. One more homer this season will put her alone at the top of the list.
Neal is also in the hunt for two other single season program records. Her current .699 slugging percentage is the second-best in a single season in program history. Her .372 batting average ranks fifth in single season program history.
