Baseball Wins Series Finale at Yale, 6-3

Harrigan gets out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth for the save
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Griffin Palfrey homered and drove in two runs, and Columbia defeated Yale, 6-3, in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at George H.W. Bush '48 Field.
The Lions (14-16, 8-4) strung together nine hits and capitalized on six walks to hand Yale (20-10, 8-4) the loss and avoid the sweep. Palfrey finished 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs, including a solo home run in the third inning that gave Columbia an early 2-0 lead.
Columbia broke open a 2-1 game with a three-run rally in the seventh. Palfrey singled home a run, then Sam Miller scored on a wild pitch. Anton Lazits added a sacrifice fly.
Jackson Brewer contributed a fielder's choice RBI in the eighth to give Columbia a three-run lead. Brewer also walked three times on Sunday.
On the mound, Thomas Santana earned the win, allowing just one earned run across 6.2 innings while striking out seven. Will Harrigan notched his second save with 2.1 scoreless innings of relief. Harrigan got a double play ball with the bases loaded in the ninth inning to end the game.
Columbia hosts Fairfield on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. The game will air live on ESPN+.
