2018: Played in 14 games and made 12 starts … Hit a two-run single against NCAA Regional participant Texas State at the FAU Tournament (Feb. 25) … Picked up a hit and a walk in a nine-inning, 11-8, victory over Virginia (March 3) … Put down two sac bunts and scored a run later that day in a win over Georgetown (March 3) … Went 1-for-3 with a run and a walk at UC Riverside (March 10) … Scored in wins against Fairfield (March 28) and St. Peter’s (April 5).
2017: Played in 45 games at third base and started 44 … Top-five on the team in doubles (6), home runs (4), slugging (.387) and total bases (43) … Hit .225 with 25 hits, 16 runs and 14 RBIs … Hit a home run for her first hit of the season against Army West Point (March 4) … Went 2-for-2 and reached base three times the next day against the Black Knights (March 5) … Homered and drove in two at Stetson (March 11) … Hit the game-tying two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth as part of Columbia’s 4-3 Ivy League-opening victory over Dartmouth (April 1) … Had two doubles in game two of a doubleheader against Brown (April 7) … Reached base four times in a 2-for-2, two-double game to help the Lions take game four of a series against Cornell (April 16) … Named to the Ivy League Weekly Honor Roll for a second time in her career (April 17) … Went a combined 3-for-7 in the final two games of a four-game series at Princeton, including a home run, two runs and an RBI (April 22).
2016: Played and started in 46 games … Named to the Ivy League weekly honor roll on April 26 … Finished the year with five multi-hit games and six multi-RBI games … Posted up seven doubles, a triple and four home runs while working seven walks, two hit-by-pitches, 10 sacrifice bunts and 20 RBI … Combined for a 7-for-8 performance in a doubleheader sweep over Saint Peter’s on April 14 … Hit a three-run walk-off home run in game one of a doubleheader against Manhattan on April 20.
Personal: Four-year letter winner as a third baseman at Yorba Linda (CA), and the captain of the 2015 squad, earning her school’s Scholar Athlete award every year in high school ... Helped the team achieve a No. 2 national ranking in 2013, when she earned first team All-League honors, while also playing club ball for the OC Batbusters ... Comes from a softball family, as her sister, Taylor, is a member of the softball team at UConn, while her mother, Tracy, played collegiately at Arizona ... Townsend’s family also includes her father, Dale, and Taylor’s twin brother, Trevor.
