
Lindsey Ewertsen Named Ivy League Midfielder of the Year

Junior Lindsey Ewertsen became the first player in Columbia lacrosse history to be selected as the Ivy League Midfielder of the Year on Tuesday, May 1, as announced by the league office. Ewertsen put together a record-setting season to help lead the Lions to their most conference wins in a season and first-ever berth into the Ivy League Tournament.
PRINCETON, N.J. - Junior Lindsey Ewertsen became the first player in Columbia lacrosse history to be selected as the Ivy League Midfielder of the Year on Tuesday, May 1, as announced by the league office. Ewertsen put together a record-setting season to help lead the Lions to their most conference wins in a season and first-ever berth into the Ivy League Tournament.
Ewertsen was a sensational all-around player in the regular season as she led Columbia in draw controls, caused turnovers and ground balls. With 75 draw controls, the junior set a new program single-season record behind a single-game record 15 in the Lions' home finale against Princeton. In just three seasons, she continues to advance her career record-setting mark in caused turnovers with 90 behind 37 on the year and also led the Ivy League in ground balls during conference play by collecting 25. Ewertsen fired in 26 goals and 15 assists overall this season, with 17 scores and five helpers coming in Ivy League play. A 2016 second team All-Ivy selection, Ewersten has now cracked into the first team.
The Lions are back in action on Friday, May 4 at 7:05 p.m. as they take on top-seed and host Princeton in the Ivy League Tournament First Round.
