Columbia is set to participate in the first-ever Ivy League Softball Tournament
PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia will participate in the first annual Ivy League softball tournament as the No. 4 seed starting Thursday afternoon with a game against the No. 1 seed and host, Princeton.
Through a head-to-head tiebreaker between Princeton and Harvard, Princeton earned the right to host the inaugural Ivy League softball tournament. The four-team double elimination tournament will receive the Ivy League automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The Lions wrapped up their regular season slate at the end of April as the team finished with a 16-22 overall record and an 11-10 Ivy League mark.
This will be Columbia's second trip to Princeton this season after the Lions played at Princeton during the regular season. The Lions also played at No. 2 seed Harvard and at No. 3 seed Yale during the regular season.
"Our team is super excited to be in the postseason," Columbia Softball Head Coach Jennifer Teague said. "I think that we are playing our best softball right now. I am excited for our program and am ready to get this tournament started!"

Following the completion of the regular season, the Ivy League announced its annual All-Ivy honors Wednesday afternoon. Six Lions were listed as Bubba Gleaves was named First Team All-Ivy at the third base position.
Jaden Hill, Cami Neal and Raquel Reyes each garnered Second Team All-Ivy recognition. Megan Ryono was recognized as honorable mention. Madison Rifenberick was included on the Academic All-Ivy team.
