Emma Muchnick joined the Columbia Lacrosse program as an assistant coach in August of 2026.
Muchnick comes to Columbia following a standout collegiate career at Syracuse, where she spent three seasons after beginning her career at Maryland. A midfielder, Muchnick was a two-time All-American and earned All-ACC and IWLCA First Team All-Region honors during her time with the Orange.
Muchnick enjoyed a breakout junior season in 2025, leading Syracuse with a career-high 34 goals and finishing third on the team with 41 points. She also helped the Orange advance to the NCAA Tournament semifinals in 2024.
On the international stage, Muchnick was a member of the United States U20 National Team and helped Team USA capture the gold medal at the 2024 World Lacrosse Women's U20 Championship.
Prior to Syracuse, Muchnick spent her freshman season at Maryland, appearing in 13 games and scoring seven goals for the Terrapins.
A Suffern, N.Y. native, Muchnick was a two-time All-American at Suffern High School and was named the 2022 Rockland County Lacrosse Player of the Year. She finished her high school career with 226 goals and 125 assists.
Muchnick graduated from Syracuse in 2026 with a degree in sport management.
