Lauren Kahn enters her sixth season as an assistant coach for Columbia women's lacrosse after joining the staff in the summer of 2014.

In her five seasons with the Lions, Kahn has played a huge part in building the Columbia program which earned its first-ever berth to the Ivy League Tournament in 2018.

"Lauren has done an incredible job over the last five years in helping our program evolve," said Columbia head coach Andrea Cofrin. "Lauren's work with our draw control teams and defense has truly helped us advance each year."

The Lions have shown constant improvement each season with help from Kahn, who works primarily with the Columbia defense and draw control teams. In 2018, Kahn helped coach junior Lindsey Ewertsen to the the single-season program record with 78 draw controls and single-game record with 15.

"Lauren is a tireless recruiter and continues to work at camps and clinics all over the country as well as playing professionally," added Cofrin.

A former standout midfielder at the University of Connecticut, Kahn is currently in her second year playing for the Philadelphia Fire in the Women's Professional Lacrosse League (WPLL) after being part of the team's inaugural campaign in 2018. Prior to joining the Fire, Kahn played two seasons with the Boston Storm within the United Women's Lacrosse League.

At UConn, Kahn was a two-time IWLCA All-America selection and a two-time All-Big East First Team honoree. She was voted the Big East Midfielder of the Year in 2012. Khan was one of the program's most prolific offensive weapons, leading the team in points in back-to-back seasons from 2012 to 2013. Kahn finished her career at UConn ranked second all-time in points (216), third in assists (73) and fourth in career goals (143).

A 2014 graduate of Connecticut, Kahn holds a bachelor's degree in Communications with a minor in English.
