PHILADELPHIA – The Columbia lacrosse team faced a tall order in its final road game at No. 9 Penn (10-2, 4-0 Ivy) on Saturday, April 14. Powered by an 11-0 run in the second half, the Quakers handed the Lions a 19-4 defeat at Franklin Field.
Lindsey Ewertsen led the Lions in the first half with two goals and four draw controls. Tallying her 50th and 51st draw controls of the season, Ewertsen set a new single-season career high and tied both Taylor Gattinella (2012) and Taylor Quinn (2015) for fourth-most on Columbia's all-time list.
Alexandria Absey found the back of the net in the period with a feed from Victoria Kalamaras, for the pair's 14th connection of the season. Fallon Quinn also fired in a spectacular highlight-worthy goal on the Lions fourth score of the afternoon for her 22nd goal of the year.
