Columbia Travels to Face Lehigh Tuesday

The Lions will play their fourth-straight road contest, taking on Lehigh Tuesday at 3 p.m.
NEW YORK – The Columbia women's lacrosse team continues its non-conference schedule Tuesday, March 5, traveling to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to face off against Lehigh at 3 p.m. ET at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
The contest will be streamed live on the Patriot League Network, with live stats available here.
Columbia enters its fourth-straight road match on Tuesday with a 2-3 overall record, looking to bounce back from its loss to No. 14 Princeton in the Ivy League opener on Saturday. The Lions are led by senior midfielder Lindsey Ewertsen with a team-high 10 goals, 16 points, 18 ground balls, 26 draw controls and 18 caused turnovers. Her 18 caused turnovers rank No. 2 in the nation and No. 1 in the Ivy League.
Ten Lions have recorded goals on the season, with nine players having registered multiple goals. Sophomore attacker Alexandria Absey ranks second on the team with nine goals in 2019, while senior midfielder Emily Manville has a team-high seven assists.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Tuesday's game marks the 14th meeting between the two programs with Columbia leading 7-6.
Last season saw Columbia drop a heartbreaking 13-12 decision at home as the game went down to the wire, with the Mountain Hawks scoring the game-winning goal with just 12 seconds remaining in the game. Three Lions (Alexandria Absey, Fallon Quinn and Devon Stuzin) recorded hat tricks in the outing, all of which return for this season.
SCOUTING LEHIGH
The Mountain Hawks are 2-2 on the 2019 campaign under 11th-year head coach Jill Redfern. Lehigh is coming off a 15-7 home win over UMBC on Saturday.
Lehigh's scoring efforts are led by junior midfielder Sondra Dickey with 14 goals on the year, six of which came against UMBC on Saturday. Sophomore midfielder Hannah Cermack also had three goals against the Retrievers.
ON DECK
After four matches on the road, Columbia will return home to Lawrence A. Wien Stadium on Saturday for its home Ivy-opener against Cornell. The matchup is set to begin at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
