Lions Host Princeton Saturday in Ivy Opener

Columbia women's lacrosse will face the No. 13 Tigers at Wien Stadium at noon on Saturday
NEW YORK – In the first Ivy League matchup of the season, Columbia women's lacrosse is set to face off against No. 13 Princeton on Saturday, Feb. 29. The contest is slated for a noon ET start at Robert K. Kraft Field at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium.
Saturday's game, along with all home contests in 2020, can be watched live on ESPN+.
The Lions (0-3) return home after back-to-back road contests. The most recent outing saw Columbia drop a hard-fought 14-11 decision at Siena, last Saturday, Feb. 22. Four different Lions scored multiple goals in the outing, while seven different players had goals for the Light Blue and White.
Sophomore midfielder Katie Lutz leads the team in both goals and points, with five goals and six points on the season. Junior attacker Alexandria Absey is close behind with five points behind four goals and one assist, as well as junior attacker Chelsea Witteck with five points on three goals and two dimes.
In the cage, sophomore goalkeeper Ryan Schlageter has seen all the action thus far, averaging 10 saves per game with 30 on the season.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
The 13th-ranked Tigers visit New York with a 2-1 overall record, and are coming fresh off an 18-13 victory at Villanova on Wednesday. First-year Grace Tauckus had six goals in the game, while Kyla Sears had five goals and two assists. Goalkeeper Sam Fish has started all three contests for Princeton, with a 13.00 goals against average.

Columbia will break from league action, hosting a mid-week contest against Temple on Wednesday, March 4. Opening draw is set for 3 p.m. from Wien Stadium.
