Columbia Prepares for First Road Contest

The Lions will travel to Durham, NH to face UNH on Saturday.
NEW YORK -- The Columbia women's lacrosse team (2-3) hits the road for its first away contest of the season following an opening five-game home stand. The Lions will travel to the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH for a 1:00 P.M. matchup against the Wildcats.

ROAD RULES
Columbia hits the road for the first time in over two years. Under first year head coach Anne Murray, the Lions look to improve upon 2020's COVID-shortened 0-4 road record. As an assistant at Fairfield (2017-2021), Murray amassed a 23-12 road record including a 3-0 for the MAAC conference title in 2018.
LION LEADERS
The Lions' senior class proves to be peaking at just the right time. Against Monmouth, Sydney Paoletti recorded her first career hat trick while classmate Ryan Schlageter turned away a personal-best 17 shots. Paoletti's 14 total points on seven goals and seven assists lead the team this season. Fellow senior Rachel Graff tops Columbia's scoring chart with 10 goals through five games.
IVY LEAGUE HONOR ROLL
Five different Lions have landed on the Ivy League Weekly Honor Roll thus. far Those recipients are detailed below.

THE OPPONENT
The Wildcats enter the weekend at 3-3 after defeating Boston University (13-10) and Central Connecticut State (20-4) last week. While Columbia and UNH have yet to share an opponent, New Hampshire battled Ivy League opponent Dartmouth earlier this season, falling 3-11 in Durham.
Senior Delaney Pratt paces the offense with ten goals on 18 shots. Classmate Emily Curtis follows close behind with nine goals and a perfect 1.000 shot on goal percentage. However, Liv Dunn has proven to be the Wildcats' most versatile offensive threat, scoring eight times while dishing out seven assists for a team-best 15 points. Including Pratt, Curtis, and Dunn, seven Wildcat's have recorded at least five goals this season, contributing to 62 total team points so far.
On the defensive end, three goalkeepers have seen time in net with senior Issy Torres and freshman Maria Hagan facing the majority of shots. Torres has made four starts on six appearances, making 41 saves while allowing 43 goals. Hagan has started two games of six contests played, making 12 saves on 42 total shots on goal. Freshman Emma Magazu has made an immediate impact on defense, leading the Wildcat's in caused turnovers (6) while scooping 10 ground balls.
