Baseball Hosts Hofstra on Tuesday Afternoon

Lions return home after an eight-game road trip
NEW YORK — Columbia baseball returns to Robertson Field at Satow Stadium on Tuesday to begin an eight-game home stand when the Lions welcome Hofstra at 3:30 p.m.
Tuesday's game between the Lions (3-11) and Pride (6-11) can be watched live on ESPN+ or followed via live stats. Ryan Young will have the broadcast call.

Last Time Out
Columbia dropped its series finale to No. 11 East Carolina on Sunday, 8-6. The Columbia offense exploded for 13 hits yesterday afternoon, including three home runs. Jack Cooper launched his sixth home run of the season in the top of the fourth.
In the top of the eighth, Miles Blackwell mashed a three-run home run to left to bring Columbia back into the game. Anton Lazits then followed up by crushing a two-run home run to left in the top of the ninth to make it 8-6. Additionally, Cole Hage, Eric Jeon, Sam Miller, and Skye Selinsky all recorded multi-hit performances.
The Lions' eight-game spring break trip featured two ranked opponents (No. 23 UC Irvine and No. 11 East Carolina).
Home Cooking
Columbia is 28-5 at home since the beginning of 2022. Earlier this month, the Lions swept a three-game sweep over Marist. Columbia combined for 39 runs in the series and Jack Cooper had a monstrous performance, garnering NCAA National Player of the Week. Cooper was 9-for-12 (.750 BA) in the series with four home runs, seven runs scored, 15 RBIs, and 22 total bases in the Lions' sweep. For the week nationally, he ranked first in RBIs, second in batting average and slugging percentage, tied for third in home runs, tied for fourth in total bases, and sixth in on-base percentage.
Scouting Hofstra
The Pride lost two of three to Manhattan over the weekend. Dylan Palmer leads the team in batting average, hits, and on-base percentage, while Santino Rosso has a team-best five home runs. Hofstra's pitching staff has an ERA of 8.94.

The Lions and Pride face each other for the first time since 2007 on Tuesday. Columbia is 11-7-1 all-time in series.
