Baseball Welcomes Manhattan for Midweek Matchup on Wednesday

The Lions go for their fourth-straight win
NEW YORK — Columbia baseball hosts local foe Manhattan on Wednesday from Robertson Field at Satow Stadium. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
Following a sweep over Brown last weekend to open Ivy League play, Columbia is 43-9 at home since the beginning of 2022. Wednesday's game between the Lions (7-11, 3-0) and Jaspers (8-14, 3-6) can be followed via live stats or watched live on ESPN+.
Last Time Out
Columbia swept Brown over the weekend with all three victories featuring double-digit runs scored by the Lions. Most recently on Sunday, Columbia exploded for six runs in the sixth inning to pull away from Brown for a 13-3 victory.
Starter Thomas Santana pitched six innings, allowing three runs on six hits with nine strikeouts to earn his second straight win. Griffin Palfrey earned the save with three scoreless innings in relief, striking out three. Columbia has won seven straight games against the Bears.
Player of the Week
Cole Fellows was tabbed Ivy League Player of the Week on Monday, the conference announced. Fellows was 9-for-17 (.529 BA) last week with two home runs and 10 RBIs. He scored eight runs and drew five walks as the Lions went 4-1 on the week. His on-base percentage for the week was .636.

Since 2012, Columbia leads the Ivy League with 155 conference wins, 11 wins over ranked opponents, six NCAA Tournament wins, and six Ivy League Championships. In that span, the Lions have also produced 12 Major League Baseball Draft selections and have had 18 players in MLB organizations.
Preseason National Recognition
Griffin Palfrey was named to the 2025 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division I Preseason All-America Third Team as a utility player.
Will Parkinson was named to the 2025 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Watch List.

Columbia is 53-45-2 all-time against the Jaspers and has won four straight games in the series. The last eight matchups between the two teams have taken place at Robertson Field at Satow Stadium.
Preseason Polls
Columbia was tabbed to finish first in the 2025 Ivy League Preseason Poll and received all 16 first place votes, as voted on by eight sports information directors and eight media members from around the league. The Lions have never been picked to finish worse than third in the Ivy League Baseball Preseason Poll.
D1 Baseball's Eric Sorenson also projected the Lions to finish first in the Ivy League standings.
