Wednesday's Game Relocated, Lions Travel to Face UConn

The Columbia lacrosse game has been moved to Storrs, Connecticut, at 3 p.m. ET
NEW YORK – Originally scheduled to be played at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium, the Columbia women's lacrosse team will travel to Storrs, Connecticut, on Wednesday, March 11, to face off against the UConn Huskies at 3 p.m. ET.
The Lions (0-6) are searching for their first win of the season. Junior attacker Alexandria Absey, Columbia's leading goal-scorer in each of the last two seasons, once again leads the squad with 12 points behind 11 goals and one assist in 2020. Junior attacker Chelsea Witteck and senior midfielder Orna Madigan trail closely with eight points behind six goals and two assists.
Sophomore goalkeeper Ryan Schlageter has played majority of the time in the cage with 39 saves, but Columbia also saw playing time for senior Abby Roberts and first-year Madison Levinson against Cornell this past Saturday.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
UConn (4-2) is coming off an 18-14 loss against UMass on Saturday. The Huskies trailed 10-9 at halftime before the Minutewomen pulled away in the second half. Senior attacker Olivia Miles had four goals in the outing.
Sophomore attacker Lia Price leads the Huskies with 34 points behind 14 goals and a team-high 20 assists, while junior midfielder Sydney Watson has a team-best 24 goals to go with three assists.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The all-time series between the two teams is knotted at 2-2, with the Lions having earned a 13-7 victory against the Huskies last season in Storrs.

The Lions travel to face Robert Morris on Saturday, March 14. The game is schedule for an 11 a.m. start time.
