Columbia Baseball Ready to Host Princeton on Alumni Weekend

First pitch for Saturday’s doubleheader is scheduled for 11:30 a.m at Robertson Field at Satow Stadium
NEW YORK — Columbia baseball is set to host Princeton for a three-game series at Robertson Field at Satow Stadium for Alumni Weekend. The series opens with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 11, with first pitch scheduled for 11:30 a.m. The series finale is set for Sunday, April 12, at 12 p.m.
The Lions are welcoming back the 1976 Ivy League Champions on the 50th anniversary of their remarkable season. The ceremony is scheduled to take place after game one on Saturday.
All three games this weekend are being broadcast on ESPN+

Columbia continues its home stand this weekend against Princeton after rolling past Fordham, 11-5, on Wednesday at Robertson Field at Satow Stadium.
Cole Fellows stayed red hot at the plate, homering twice to become the first Lion this season with a multi-homer game. The senior has now gone deep three times in the last four games. Jack Kail led the offensive charge with a perfect 4-for-4 performance and three RBI, while Fellows drove in six runs and Owen Estabrook added his fourth home run of the season.
On the mound, Columbia's bullpen turned in another strong collective effort. First-year Koby Seelig (1-0) picked up his first collegiate win in his first career start, surrendering just one run across two innings. Jack Korthas added two innings with a strikeout, Dan Mills tossed two scoreless frames and allowed only one hit, and Brendan Murphy slammed the door with two shutout innings and three strikeouts.

Princeton is 7-20 overall and 2-7 in conference, and has dropped nine straight heading into this weekend.
The Tigers' non-conference slate was highlighted by a 1-0 win over No. 17 NC State and an 8-7 win over Duke.
Princeton is anchored offensively by Will Robbins, who leads the team in home runs (4), RBI (17), and doubles (6). Jake Koonin (3 HR, 12 RBI) and Bennett Crerar (11 RBI) provide additional support through the lineup, while Grant Werdesheim (.287) and Tomas Cernius (.286) lead the Tigers in batting average.
Princeton's pitching staff is anchored by Justin Kim, who leads the Tigers in innings pitched (36.1) while posting a team-low 4.21 ERA, holding opponents to a .227 batting average and picking up one of the team's two wins on the season.
Liam Kinneen has logged similar volume with 36.0 innings pitched, recording a 5.50 ERA and limiting hitters to a .248 average.

Columbia ranks among the top offenses in the Ivy League, sitting second with a .266 team batting average and leading the conference with 21 home runs. The Lions have also totaled a league-best 366 total bases and rank second in hits (249)
Toughest One Wins
Jack Kail has been one of the toughest hitters to retire this season, striking out just six times in 93 at-bats, ranking as the hardest player to strike out in the league and No. 18 nationally. He has totaled 32 hits and driven in 23 runs.
In the matchup against Fordham on Tuesday, Kail knocked his 114th RBI, surpassing Rob Paller (2012, 2014-2016) to claim sole possession of the ninth spot on Columbia's career list. His next RBI will tie him with Gene Larkin (1981-1984) for No. 8.
For He's a Jolly Good Fellows
Senior Cole Fellows returns after earning the 2025 Blair Bat, awarded to the Ivy League player with the highest batting average in conference play, and has carried that momentum into 2026, hitting .277 on the season.
Fellows delivered a standout performance in the weekend series against, launching two home runs, including a grand slam in the opener, marking Columbia's second grand slam of the season. The California native recorded a career-high seven RBI, becoming the first Lion this year to plate six or more runners in a game.
Four days later, against the Rams, Cole Fellows blasted two homers, one of which was a grand slam, becoming the first Lion to record two home runs in a game this season.
Off the field, Fellows was named a captain of the 2025 Lou Gehrig Community Impact Team, in recognition of his leadership and commitment beyond the game.
