Lions Set to Face Penn in Home Finale Saturday

The game will serve as Columbia's One Love Foundation game
NEW YORK – The Columbia women's lacrosse team returns to action Saturday night for its final home game of the season, taking on Penn at 7:30 p.m. ET at Wien Stadium.
The game will be dedicated to raising awareness for the One Love Foundation, which aims to end relationship abuse by educating young people about the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships, empowering the next generation to love better.
Columbia (4-9, 1-4 Ivy League) aims to get back in the win column after dropping a 17-10 decision to Yale last Saturday. Sophomore attacker Alexandria Absey matched her season-best with four goals in the outing, while fellow sophomore Chelsea Witteck scored a pair of first-half goals.
Absey continues to lead the Lions in goals with 30 on the season, while senior midfielder Lindsey Ewertsen has a team-best 47 points on 21 goals and 26 dimes. Ewertsen also leads the Ivy League with 3.23 caused turnovers per game. Junior goalkeeper Abby Roberts has seen action in all 13 games with nine starts, recording 97 saves including 41 stops in Ivy action.
SCOUTING PENN
Penn enters Saturday's game with 9-4 overall record, including a 3-2 mark in Ivy contests. The Quakers have lost two Ivy games in a row after falling 11-15 to Dartmouth on Saturday and posting a 13-11 loss to Princeton on Wednesday night.
Sophomore attacker Zone Belodeau leads the Quakers with 31 goals in 2019, while junior attacker Gabby Rosenzweig has a conference-leading 67 points on 26 goals and 41 assists. Junior goalkeeper Mikaila Cheeseman has started all 13 games with a 10.17 goals against average.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Lions will seek their first win in the all-time series between the two teams, as Penn leads 22-0.
ON DECK
Columbia will travel to Brown for its final regular season game next Saturday, April 27. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
