Baseball Welcomes Penn This Weekend For Three Games

Lions set to host defending Ivy League Champions
NEW YORK — Columbia baseball continues its homestand when Penn comes to Robertson Field at Satow Stadium this weekend for a three-game series. Saturday's doubleheader begins at 11:30 a.m. followed by Sunday's series finale at 12 p.m.
This weekend's games between the Lions (7-12, 2-1) and Quakers (11-10, 3-0) can be watched live on ESPN+ or followed via live stats. Ryan Young will have the broadcast call.

Last Time Out
Columbia came from behind with a three-run seventh inning to defeat Manhattan, 10-7, on Tuesday afternoon at home.
Jack Cooper recorded his third five-RBI performance of the season and now leads the Ivy League with 26 on the year. The senior belted his seventh home run of the season in the third inning and is now tied for the team lead with Cole Hage.
With the Lions trailing 7-6 in the home seventh inning, Cooper swatted a two-run double to put Columbia (7-12, 2-1) in front. Cole Fellows followed up with an RBI single later in the inning to give the Lions a 9-7 advantage.
Miles Blackwell launched a solo home run in the eighth to add insurance for Columbia. James Vaughn finished off the Jaspers (7-16, 1-2) with two scoreless innings, tallying three strikeouts en route to his first save in a Columbia uniform.
Home Cooking
Columbia is 32-6 at home since the beginning of 2022 and 7-1 this season. The Lions are averaging 9.4 runs per game in home contests this year.

The Lions lead the Ivy League in doubles, home runs, runs scored, and slugging percentage. Individually, Jack Cooper leads the conference with 26 RBIs while Cole Hage is the leader in slugging percentage (.735) and OPS (1.193).
Series History - Penn
The Lions are 130-142-1 all-time against the Quakers and have dropped four-straight to Penn, including a game in the inaugural Ivy League Tournament last year in Philadelphia. Columbia has squared off with Penn in each of the last two Ivy League postseasons.

Columbia hits the road next week to play UConn on Tuesday, April 2 at 3:30 p.m. before heading to Hanover, New Hampshire for a three-game set at Dartmouth next weekend.
